the main point is that we are stealing from people not yet born and lack any sort of conscience about it.

I wouldn't call borrowing money stealing. I understand the argument that it is, but I disagree, at least if the borrowing doesn't become so great that it greatly disrupts economic growth (and you could do the same with a massive tax increase).
