I wonder how much of this subprime mess is tied up with fake shares? It seems like they are trying to bundle the whole mess together so as not to let the general public know what's really going on. What did they do? Loan out money they were making selling fake shares at unreasonable rates hoping to turn a illegal profit into a legal one? Something like that?

It makes me wonder if these guys really knew the extent of damage they were doing or if they thought they had a good thing going not realizing there were a ton of them doing the same thing blowing it up into something that could actually ruin our Country.

Why can't these loans just be rewritten to the terms they started with basically. Lower the interest rates down to 6% and see how it goes then. These people were making the payments until they pushed the rates up in the 10% area. Well they might not make as much money but they wouldn't lose it all like what's happening now. Doesn't make sense not to do this.
