There is no cure for what ails the economy other than time and a deep recession. More lending isn't the solution and tight credit isn't the crux of the problem. The Fed can shift debt and phantom funds around all they want, but it won't do anything but delay the inevitable, or at best make it appear less severe.

There's this belief that the Fed can fix anything, like Felix the Cat, by digging into their bag of tricks. But they're obviously confounded and have lost all control. They've painted themselves into a corner and WS expects them to deliver something. All they can do is keep plugging more acronyms into the system and hope the economy ultimately sees it as a fix.
