the government was the subject. please be so kind as to tell folks when you change the subject in your head. ;-)

Tim, we disagree. the logical extension to your plan is that running quintillion dollar deficits is no big deal to future generations (who cares about all the interest) since they will get the benefits of the money we spend today.

i disagree. i think future generations would respect us more if we did the financially smart thing and paid as we went. maybe i'm wrong here. while possible, i don't think it is probable.

200 lbs beat me once again. hopefully, the third time is the charm.

again, when the debt is $10 trillion and t-bills are bringing in 12%, the first $6k in taxes will pay interest alone. i will be waiting for all that wealth you claim is being generated today to be monetized so the debt can be paid off. i just won't wait very long as it'll never happen.
