What you think blacks haven't "paid their dues"? My gosh this line of thinking by women escapes me.

There are lots of kinds of dues. Race has a dues scheme but that's independent of the dues Ferraro, I think, has in mind. The dues she has in mind belong to political parties and the way we elect presidents. You pay them by eating a lot of rubber chicken and all the other things you do to work your way up the party ladder. At least that's what she was told coming up. Those were the rules. She played by them and became eligible to be on the ticket. And she was selected to be on the ticket. I think that's her perspective in resenting Obama as an upstart.

You earn a high school degree by "paying your dues" But that doesn't give you the right to be class valedictorian because of your gender......or race.

Exactly. And you aren't eligible to be valedictorian if you only went for two years. It doesn't matter if you were off paying your dues as a cancer patient or winning a silver medal in the Olympics. You didn't pay the right dues so you aren't eligible to be valedictorian.
