I don't see why anyone feels they can't talk about Obama's faults. He can be, and has been, criticized for some legitimate reasons.

While the intent of Geraldine Ferraro's recent statements, or Bill Clinton's dismissal of Obama's primary victory in South Carolina, may not have been racist, the statements do come uncomfortably close to the line.

Has anyone been accused of being racist for attacking Obama on the basis of his level of experience, his record in the Senate and the Illinois state legislature, or his policy proposals? I don't think so.

I agree that some people look for racism everywhere, and that they often find it where it doesn't really exist, or at least, where it doesn't exist to the extent they may think it does.
