entrepreneurship
While consulting for Medical Science Partners (a Harvard Medical school affiliated VC firm), Expert helped launch a number of start-up companies based on technologies developed at the medical school as well as technologies he helped develop. He is currently on the Board of Directors of two start-up companies as well as on the board of "Technical Advisors" of a third company.

business management

technology management
Expert has been President and COO of a medical instrumentation company (American Electromedics Corp.) and President of the Technology Group of Ferrofluidics Corp. Currently he is a Vice President at Invent Resources, Inc. and a board member of Room Temperature Superconductors, Inc. Earlier in his career, he was a Vice President at Technicon Corporation, with responsibilities over time for M&A work, new product launch, and divisional management.

instrumentation (equipment)
Expert's business career has been concentrated in analytical and medical instrumentation, particularly in the launch of new products from specification to alpha and beta site testing and deployment.

Josephson junction
As part of Expert's work in superconductors, he was also involved in the development of unique Josephson junctions (see U.S. patents 5,064,809 and 5,171,732).

magnetocaloric refrigeration
Expert authored a generic patent in the field of "magnetic heat pumps using the inverse magnetocaloric effect" (U.S. patent 5,091,361), and as such, this work necessitated the full understanding of traditional magnetocaloric refrigeration.

medical oxygen concentrator
As part of his work in the medical instrumentation field, Expert developed one of the first molecular sieve delta P cycle-based portable oxygen concentrators.
