imherenow: You can find out patent info at the US Patent Office's website. Scanning their database for Ed Rutkowski (LACC inventor), you will find his two LACC patents.

The patent numbers are:

PAT. NO. Title
1. 5,384,446 Method of controlling the length of metal chips
2. 5,200,593 Method of controlling the length of metal chips

For years, either Marc or IR has stated the patents would be updated shortly. As you can see, they haven't been updated.
