Ferraro's comment was empty, below the belt, undignified sniping. I have always liked her, most people do, so it is disappointing to see her going to this level.

Who he is, or any candidate is, is what people use there vote for or against. So what?

If Obama was a taxi driver he would not be in this position.
If Obama was a Russian he would not be in this position.
If Obama was a hooker he would not be in this position.
If Obama was a teacher he would not be in this position.
If Obama was a illegal from Mexico he would not be in this position.

Fill in the blank with any descriptor that doesn't describe Obama and it works. Her inference that it can be reduced to one thing 'race' is not true. There are plenty of black people, including seasoned black politicians, who would not currently make a viable candidate for presidency.
