Not pretty, but in all fairness, that's a very misleading chart, e.g.

Mom & Pop Inc

Assets:
Cash 10,000
Pop's Pension 200,000
House 500,000

Liabilities:
Mortgage 310,000

Net Worth = 400,000

Nothing wrong with Mom & Pop's balance sheet there, but that chart would portray them at the -300,000 level and erroneously imply that Mom & Pop are in distress
