The USD is doomed, the only Presidential candidate that understood the underlying issues and wanted to implement real reforms to solve the problem is now out of the race. Ron Paul was laughed at and ridiculed by the mainstream media like Ross Perot was back in the 1990's for suggesting that we can't live on borrowed money forever....and for suggesting real fiscal reforms to try to correct the course we're on. Now we're left with the usual choice between candidates who think the freshly printed money should be distributed to the poor in a socialistic manner, or a candidate who thinks the rich deserve tax breaks despite a ballooning national debt. I think the most realistic option is a combination of budget cuts and tax hikes....but I'm just a raving lunatic too....but at least I share good company with the former head of the Government Accountability Office, David Walker: politico.com
