Just watched CNN- and thought it was much better. I thought Obama did extremely well (but that might be because he had obviously read my post about history and the rhetoric of the times influencing Rev. Wright, and how he could respect while not having the same beliefs). His points about this being a transitional time were very good. I have decided I have had enough of the issue. I am going to take Obama at his word- I believe him-, and still hope he can lick this. But I also fear you may be right about money changing hands for "witnesses", and all the other garbage that we will see. Also, I've been a member of so many congregations based not on the pastor, but because of the people themselves. WRight's church has vibrant, active, strong ministries, and would have been the ideal match for the young community activist Obama. It all makes sense to me. People who haven't been an involved committed member of a church family maybe don't get that you love every member even the really odd ones. And when your minister is a revered, national speaker, you probably cut him some slack when he's over the top at times. Rev. Otis is very very slick.(And still hot) And I don't like Tony Perkins.
