If Clinton and Obama's positions were reversed, I think it's very likely that virtually all the superdelegates and the rest of the democratic apparatus would have endorsed Clinton and Obama would have dropped out of the race. Clinton started out with an unquestionable advantage among the establishment; she lost it (or rather is losing it) over the course of the race by losing elections.
