RE: Jim Goodman
I have enjoyed reading the posts of Mr. Goodman. He is not "garbage" simply because he is a broker or doesn't agree with you about a particular stock.
He has shared many of his ideas freely with others in this forum. I have personally profited from some of his ideas.
You may not agree with his techniques, his profession or like him personally -- this does not give you the right to personally attack him (Terms of USE). Everyone here expresses opinions. Very few opinions are without an agenda of some kind.
Someone taking your own advice may be deemed to have "fallen for something" as well from someone else's perspective. SI at its best is an open forum for free exchange of ideas.
I have never read a post of Mr. Goodman's which violated the Terms of Use. Your posts on the other hand ...
If you don't desire to read Mr. Goodman's posts I encourage you hit the NEXT button and keep moving. I like to read them.
SI can in no way control, nor should it be expected to control, in my opinion, any personal or professional relationships that are begun as a result of communication here. I have previously asked folks who are knowledgeable about matters I wanted to discuss to contact me offline. There is nothing wrong with this. I have seen Mr. Goodman ask for individuals to contact him offline to discuss his techniques of investing -- this is not open solicitation in my book. Anybody who personally contacts anyone from this forum takes any and all risks upon themselves.
Now, if Mr. Goodman began specifically advertising his services, rates of charge, promoting specific stocks in which he had a vested interest, etc. I think that would be innapropriate. However, I have seen other individuals blanket or spam hype about stocks across multiple threads.
Mr. Goodman has been especially careful to keep the conversation to the specific thread.
Please read the terms of use again and comply with them, sir. I enjoy SI because it is an open exhange. Let's keep it that way!
