Interesting to see this thread. I really don't see anyone finding a good use for NC's but I may be wrong. I think if an NC will survive it will be one that looks more like a WebTV (I actually understand the value in one of these devices) than a general computing device. As an aside here is an interesting/funny article from PCWeek.

Interesting that there are already Top 10 lists in the press mentioning that NC's are dead because even I would admit that it seems a bit premature to pronounce them dead.
