When I was into PV and Senor Pepe's in the 80s, the opposite bank of Gringo Gulch was barely developed and it was still pretty much jungle all the way to Mislamoya Bay (it sure ain't now). I've forgotten the name, but back towards town there was an upstairs bar right on the Malecon that used to serve rocket-powered margaritas 2-for-1 for $1 at happy hour, so you could watch the sunset and get shitfaced on the cheap. How could you not love Mexico

I probably should have bought a condo there back then -- Lord knows I had enough time-share salesmen pop out at me from every doorway in town trying to sell me one
