>>Since the drive is 200mg with ATOMM read write technology, the same as the zip, it is quite possible that this particular drive will make the Zip the standard that everyone has been hoping for.<<

Well, all fine and dandy except for one small thing. THE DISCS AREN"T EVEN THE SAME SIZE! The new ATOMM disc is 3.5 inches. The Zip is 3.85 inches. This blows the Zip "standard" out of the water.

Iomega is in a bind. If this new 200MB ATOMM product comes out at $199 or below, it will directly compete with Iomega's new 100MB Zip Plus. Same price, double the storage. If Iomega counters with A 200 MB Zip, then they will have to possibly write off the cost of developing, producing, and marketing an already dead product (100 MB Zip Plus). Plus, Syquest is ready to drop the bomb of a 1 Gig SparQ at the same price point.

The action in SYQT today is disappointing, but almost all the tech stocks are taking a hit. Rest assured, SYQT will edge back up as Comdex draws near. I bought in at 3 3/4. I'm still up a bit.
