---

Land production of Methane Hydrate is likely to become economic first.
Test wells have been drilled on Alaska's North Slope and in Canada' Mackenzie River Delta, but as neither the Alaskan Natural Gas pipeline nor the Mackenzie Valley pipeline has begun construction or for that matter even been approved, there is no way to get any methane hydrate gas to market let alone the known conventional natural gas resources in those areas.

As to drilling into methane hydrate deposits along the coasts, as you know, drilling off both the East and West coasts for oil, gas, or anything else is forbidden. The political winds favor the Congress making the ban permanent with the next administration. Why would drilling in methane hydrate deposits be permitted while drilling known conventional deposits of gas is forbidden?
