Sure they did. Constantly blowing bubbles and doing desperate measures to avoid a recession only ensures you're gonna end up with a whopper of a recession. Recessions are normal. But when you take extreme measures to avoid one, it means when it does happen (and it will) it''ll be far worse and far longer than it would have in the first place.
