I always have a problem with Greg Palast. He is sort of like a mirror image of Fox News. He has his conclusion in mind, and then he goes looking for facts. However, I do believe he found some this time, as he often does. The problem I have with him is that he publishes his conclusions whether he has facts or not. <G>

That Wall Street and their subsidiaries, BushCo, FedRes and other corrupt power holders, were out to spread the corporate welfare to the financial sector, come Hell or high water. Spitzer was an impediment. And, of course, they could use those illegal wiretaps to get the dirt on the guy before they applied for the legal wiretaps to nail him.

That being said, when you go after these folks with enormous clout, you cannot spit on the sidewalk. Spitzer not only saw a lot of professional women, he also used some of his own powers illegally. Evil cannot be broken by somebody employing less evil.

At Bear Stearns and Carlyle, people should be going to prison. Instead, they will stay rich. Just not as rich as they thought they would be. All on our taxes and debts.
