KLP, I was at Thomas Jefferson"s Monticello several years ago and the docent on my tour insisted that the fine furniture in the home was made by the slaves Pendulum must have swung the other way. Last time I was at Mt. Vernon, in the 1980's, they referred to the slaves as "servants."
