(Or, it might have something to do with fast rising inflation in China, the Chinese raising reserve requirements and interest rates to try to slow down the advance of inflation... the big oil companies posting LOSSES because they must buy high-priced foreign oil, yet the government refuses to allow them to raise domestic selling prices... riots in Tibet, SARS scare, etc.)

The 'Asian Bears' might just have a little more on their minds than 'Bear Stearns'. <g>
