I have been trading with Aufhauser (now AMeritrade) for over 3 years. I must say that since Ameritrade took over Aufhauser (and it has been only a week) - the service has been terrible. The phone wait times have increased (getting close to E-trade), the customer service people are not courteous.

They do seem to be making money on routing orders based on their own wish - today I asked them to route my option trade to more active exchange rather than Pacific exchange (which had zero volume on that option) and they say they will charge more if they have to route it to Chicago board....

seems like something is funky here... do I smell $$$$ here ?????

no where in their published material they ever say that this kind of routing will be charged extra... I wouldn't mind if they stated that.

Aufhauser used to route orders if you specifically request without any additional charge.

further my bid price is never reflected because it is routed to pacific exchange...the chicago board bid price is lower than my bid price and that is reflected in their own real-time quotes...

Very disillusioned with this merger...
