Considering the liars poker situation we are in, bear stearns has exactly one option: Bankruptcy If they didnt, they can never argue that they did not betray its shareholders by accepting the fire sale price. Everything but a bankruptcy shows how foolish their move to sell out indeed has been. For Chase, I can only say: bad karma.
