The US Supreme Court appears ready to rule that Americans have a constitutional right to keep a gun in their home for self-defence, a ruling that could help Republicans in the upcoming presidential election.

If the ruling is that narrow, it will represent an enormous diminution in the average American's self-defense capability.

This is a good time to take another look at the 2nd A.

Second Amendment: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Having previously sold much of a substantial gun collection, I have now become a gun buyer. Because of occasional shortages/complications in ammo procurement that I've seen arise from time to time, I plan to add 2 more handguns, each of different calibre and with plenty of ammo for each.

As a bonafide and registered Kentucky Colonel, appointed by a former Kentucky Governor, I am going to check to see if that qualifies as a militia. If not I'll be looking for a militia to join.
