i'm empirically inclined, so i like empirical measurements - especially given how accountants are trained to use numbers to lie and they are quite good.

the less rope they have, the less likely they hang us.

some ethereal, non quantifiable quality metric that doesn't translate into actual dollars at any point down the line is prime fat for these types to twist and distort until they have manipulated *massive* imbalances in the economy.

this is *exactly* what happened when they butchered gdp in 1996 - they created two of the largest irrational bubbles in the history of mankind based upon their version of "quality."

i don't think that is good.
