That's nice of you to say Karen. The thing is my story is not that unique.

A couple of weekends ago we had a friend visit with her two kids. She just got back from a year in Iraq. Her grandmother was watching the kids while she was gone. Her story is far more compelling, because, it's happening today in the same America Obama seems to believe is nearly impossible to succeed in.

She signed up to join the American military as an 18 year Liberian. She's now served for 10 years (is a first class E-6). Has two kids (out of wedlock) but doing fine. The kids are being raised by the dreaded "single parent". How could she possibly succeed?

Well, one of her kids, 13 year old Christine is on the President's Honor Roll. She can speak three languages fluently. She wants to be a brain surgeon. I have little doubt she will reach her goal. Her other child Joseph makes high honors every year. Our children are tied to them via chat just about every day. Their family from Liberia followed her to America (after a few years), and now lives in Providence. Her sister is a nurse, brother runs his own business. We visited them about a month ago. They all live in one big house and support one another with kids running everywhere. A bit of a crazy life style for my liking, but it works for them and they seem really happy.

None of them view America in the same way as the Obama congregation. None! They feel blessed to be in this country. And didn't hesitate to say so when I talked about my trip to Ghana and Gabon a couple of years ago with them.

And we are blessed as Americans to welcome in these newly arriving immigrants. It's happening every day with thousands upon thousands of people. Probably right down the street from the Trinity Church in Chicago.

There is not one place I can think of where opportunity to succeed is greater for people of any color. The extreme Obama preacher's message speaks to just the opposite of that reality.

In fact, he tells lies in the church from the highest place of reverence.

Obama should find another church to support. One with an uplifting message of hope and optimism.
