<Is cash king?> At the moment, cash is king. There is $800 billion of federal reserve notes in circulation vs. $4 trillion in gold. By that measure, US dollar paper currency is much more rare than gold.

All other US dollar "money" is an interest bearing IOU. IOU's are rapidly going to money heaven.

While the Fed can print an unlimited amount of money, it has not printed anything so far. In fact they have performed an unprecedented number of reverse POMO's, which in effect, shrinks the money supply.

The mad dash for US dollar cash has begun.
