BABB franchises and licenses Big Apple Bagels, My Favorite Muffin, and Brewster's Coffee. Their bagels are very good, ask Gary.<g>

I've owned shares for years - it hasn't moved much and growth has been stagnant. One very nice aspect - it pays an 8.5% dividend..

Two days ago they made an announcement - a drop my bagel, spit my coffee on the monitor and sit up in my chair type announcement. They are partnering with a Subway on a location in Illinois. The announcement seemed to go unnoticed. I'm not surprised.

This "co-branding" idea is an excellent one in my opinion. A Big Apple Bagel inside a Subway (or other lunch/dinner location) gives the franchisee additional income for the same amount of rent. Bagels and coffee in the morning, sandwiches for lunch and dinner. It's a match made in heaven. BABB has tinkered with this concept before. But never with a SUBWAY.

This is only one Subway location so far and as a microcap investor it's easy to get carried away with the POSSIBILITIES, but Holy cream cheese Batman, there are A LOT of Subways. I believe it's the most franchised food vendor in the U.S. with about 21,000 locations.

I know it's a long shot but for a little microcap like BABB... even a little bit of that 21,000 location action would be very helpful, no?

And what's not to like about a 8.5% return on your money? In this environment I'll take 8.5% every day.
