Would an expensive compressor designed to charge air tanks to 4300 pounds thousands of times need service and replacing? if air powered cars became popular, technology would quickly improve storage tanks as well as compressors (i believe). tanks would become stronger, lighter and safer. compressors might actually move on board the cars themselves. multi-junction solar technology promises greater than 40% efficiency soon. solar cells could then be put on the cars to power the compressors or charge batteries, whatever the case may be..
