Furthermore, though Obama himself has made his own views very clear, writing not one but two books, and making countless speeches, he is being made out to be a black supremacist because of some things his pastor has said. I agree with you that it may not rise to the level of true swiftboating, since there's a kernel of actual fact at the center of the controversy. Wright did say those things, after all, and it's understandable how people could find such statements offensive. But certainly a lot of the reactions of Obama's detractors have been beyond the pale. - Allen
