But using the same rhetorical device shall we group, Falwell, Robertson, Hagee and Dobson and all their congregations in the same class, because surely what they have said over the years is equal or worse.

Or conversely, how should we respond to someone like Scalia, who cligns to his mother the Church wholeheartedly, except when it is inconvenient, e.g., on issues such as the death penalty and torture.

This is an incredibly divisive row to hoe. It is why we have a First Amendment. Shall we visit the calm serene place of Europe, post Reformation?
