re:["You have a great ability to shine the light allowing the rest of us to see and understand. Hopefully we too will 'get it' one day and be much better traders."]
When I type in "you" I don't mean everyone. I mean the "collective" you. And I'm not trying to come off as an arrogant ass... but, I realize that is the impression many people have about anyone expressing strong conviction about something they may disagree with, or don't want to hear.
If traders only want to hear what they want to hear... I'll glady forward a list of about 20 gold bug newsletters than will blow so much smoke up your ass each month, that you'll never sit another foot on terra firma in this lifetime (vbg).
I'm really not trying to corral "all gold bugs" into the same box. But, to be fair... I think most people realize that quite a few of them are in that box.
There is not a single mistake that I've talked about that I haven't made myself. This weekend, I'll share a little story about a couple of them and lessons learned.
No one ever gets good, let alone great - at anything, without making one helluva lot of mistakes.
The key is learning from them.
One of the things I think I do well, is to seldom make the same mistake twice.
And I know my message often comes from a "tough love" perspective, but there's a reason for it. I'll share it this weekend, along with another book - everyone should read. It's a hidden gem on stock picking.
I've stumbled upon a few techniques that are perhaps somewhat unique... but, 95% of everything I've learned about trading - has been from the school of hard-knocks, and from some very generous mentors who somehow, saw a little bit of talent behind all the rough edges.
I think there is both an "art" and a "science" to trading.
Many have mastered the science part - few focus on, let alone master the "art" part. I believe that it can be taught... but, it's not easily learned. And nothing worthwhile, or of great value - ever is.
Mo later,
