I think this may actually be positive going forward. If it helps white people (many of whom apparently did not know about the anger in the black community, and things like the Tuskegee experiment) understand the black community better, and helps blacks feel better understood, that alone could lessen the anger. Nothing makes people angrier than feeling they have grievances AND their grievances are being ignored- and knowing nothing about the grievances is ignoring them. I learned about Tuskegee a long time ago- can't even remember when now, but when you know about that it makes the attitude of some blacks toward AIDS much more understandable. Heck I know very bright engineers who think the US government might have had a hand in 9/11, and who doesn't know a JFK conspiracist? So while I think some people, the people who didn't like Obama anyway, will scream and shout from the sidelines,I think for the rest of us this might be a really positive development. I'm hoping, anyway.
