I dont buy into the drug conspiracy stuff although i dont doubt that even today drugs flow freely from afganistan because of larger issues there that require not totally bankrupting the place. Some of that has gone on i am sure from the 60s on thru many admins. No one forces anyone to take drugs and though crack is cheaper, same holds true. And if you are talking 70s and 80s you gotta address pure cocaine which was a white mans disease as i remember it.
