I don't know about that one way or the other. When I saw McCain's gaffe, it just made me see how vulnerable he is to manipulation by forces nimbler and more clever than he is. It goes back to having a president (Bush) in office, who delegated responsibilities to others and simultaneously abdicated his own responsibilities for oversight.
