3/20/08 update It's an especially good Good Friday this year for dizzy investors needing an extra day of rest to recover from the stock market's wild gyrations. When the closing bell finally rang on Thursday and the manic bulls & bears moved to their corners for a three-day rest, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -14.86% YTD (doing a bit better than the -16.58% YTD loss a week ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index and the Contest portfolios both also finished the week higher. At Thursday's close, the NBI was down -10.77% YTD (vs. -11.39% YTD a week ago), while the median of the Contest portfolios closed off -13.64% YTD (vs. -17.35% YTD a week ago). At Friday's close, there were still just two of the 33 Contest portfolios in the black YTD with 14 of the portfolios beating the NBI. ROBERT's portfolio remained in first place with a 20.8% YTD gain with RCMAC's portfolio moving into second place with a 0.3% YTD gain. (My own portfolio, in second place last Friday, was DVAXed to 15th place.) Have a great three-day weekend folks! Below is the Top Ten list on 3/20/08:
