I just can't understand why all the people on this thread have problems with CF bulbs.

I don't read this thread regularly. Am I not the only one?

What I compare is how often I replace bulbs. I have about twice as many halogen + incandescent (including small decorative ones) vs. fluorescent, yet I replace more fluorescents than other, and this is while fluorescents are supposed to have a lifetime of several times of incandescent.

Maybe one of the reasons my incandescents are not dying quickly is because I have them on dimmers (gradually turning on or off), and only rarely have the dimmer at 100%. But that still does not explain CFs dying, or half dying.
