People like me? So you can label me now because I question Obama's leadership on this issue?

I have two multi racial children. The HS I went to was 50% black, most of my friends in HS were black.

I spent 6 years in the USN with people of many races, working 100+ hours a week for many weeks. The military is about as color blind an organization as imaginable IMO.

I entered the work force in 1980. The majority of black people I have encountered had ample opportunity to succeed even if in many cases it may have been more difficult in some cases because of their race. I have been in the position many times being strongly encouraged to give preference to a minority for hiring and promotion. How much this offsets challenges because of discrimination I dont know.

So I know what attitudes and behaviours lead to success. Every one has obstacles to success. Some more than others. But one's success in life is not always dependent on the hand they are dealt, but how they respond to it.

There is not one ethnic group or race in the USA who has not had to move past discrimination.

If Obama has taken strong stands against the poor leadership of his church on these types of matters, than I am not aware of them. He certainly could have demonstrated them recently to deflect this criticism.
