McCain seems to be a decent man who will do that, and has been on the receiving end of the worst of tactics. But is not him that is the worry, and i doubt he will have any control over what others outside his campaign do, but who want a rep elected no matter what. And, tho... like Hillary, he very much wants to be president. He's wanted it for a longlong time. He might not exactly stoop, but dip into the 'be afraid, be very afraid, and only daddy repprez can protect you' routine.
