So if this thing comes down to a mudslinging contest in the GE, who always wins? The one with the most money. Therefore, it may get very ugly, but Obama can win that one.
If it's Obama/McCain, I don't think the candidates will do the mud slinging. I think it will come from 527's (which can be denounced, which is helpful) and also from the right wing talk show machine. Those guys are so good at blowing trivial crap out of proportion, and the MSM has seemed to now embrace that stuff. It's seeding the old "FUD" thing (fear, uncertainty, doubt). Rush didn't say Obama would demand reparations for blacks, he said "do we know he won't demand reparation for blacks, I'm not so sure". So I think the Reps have a big advantage in the FUD category, especially with Obama as the em candidate.
Remember awhile ago I posted that Bill Richardson would endorse Obama and sometime thereafter Obama would announce that Richardson will be his VP? Will half of that came true today. Wait for the other half. That's my dream ticket right there. A long time back, Bill Richardson was my favorite because of his Green credentials and foreign police expertise. In addition, being governor gives him plenty of executive experience. He rounds Obama out nicely. If they pair up, they will be unstoppable.
Don't know about unstoppable but I've said before I think Richardson is the ideal running mate. He seems like he's better at selling ideas and other people than he is at selling himself. I supported Richardson for Pres before I supported Obama and made contributions to his candidacy.
Right now Hill leads in the national polls which is not good... |
