All one needs to do is watch how being a supporter of Obama on this board requires finding a way to minimize the evil of Wright.

I think that's true, in general, but not in this specific. Mme was clearly differentiating. Since differentiating is one of my hobby horses, I must reinforce her having done so. It's quite possible to support the good works of a church for 20 years despite some unrelated fault of the pastor. Applying that nuance does not "minimize the evil" but simply puts it in its proper bucket.
