I am very fond of certain parts of my country, but indifferent to most of it. Can I stay in my little corner of it, or should I give it up and move to Costa Rica? Should I go on a tour of the parts I am indifferent to, hoping that love will spring from the ashes of indifference? If I send Iowa a dozen roses twice a year will that make up for the fact that I really don't care for it very much?
