My understanding is that it is a gamble if the batteries parameters they spec'd for the vehicle will be available in commercial quantities by the projected release date. Energy storage is extremely difficult. Chemical means, i.e. batteries, is problematic because the chemistry is pretty well understood. So there isn't a whole lot of room for breakthroughs.
