"Certainly lingering outrage isn't" lingering outrage or a new situation? of course the past needs to be the past. or so i 'think' we both think? to put in simple terms, which is all i can come up with... a spouse cheats lingering outrage is to always bring up. to never ever truly forgive. of course, perhaps the spouse never ever truly says 'i'm sorry'. that can lead to lingering. but let's the spouse was truly and honestly sorry... so no lingering outrage. no bringing it up every fight. but... lingering doubt is another thing. the next time the spouse who cheated is out all night... maybe the story of a flat tire and no jack and no one came along to help until dawn is true... and that's why spouse was out all night... or maybe... spouse was cheating again. where i would part from a rev wright, irregardless of historical reasons to doubt, is that i like evidence. bring in all the evidence. and be as willing, or more so, to say it wasn't another case of powerful people (the only reason white is used is that they happen to be the powerful people) doing something horrid to the non-powerful who they care not about and/or hate. i'm not sure i like the use of 'victim mentality' used against, imo, people who have been 'victims' (a word i avoid in general btw). i find it to be a way of dismissing even true claims of abuse. 'oh, you are acting like a victim. poopoo on you'.
