i dun like the word for both those reasons. and not much fond of 'survivor', either. who would have thought 'survivor' could come to make me cringe. but at times it can. because both harken always back to the event. rather than the present. but but but... it is a time process. if someone was abused, of course (i think) there will be a period of transition. then the transition is done. however... if people still after you, truly, how you ever totally break out of it? oh, right... you dismiss them as irrelevant. i don't care if someone is racist if they just spout in their living room. so what? i don't care if someone hates gays. if they just spout it in their living room. but i am no victim. nor survivor. i am not 'nice', either. so... they should keep it in their livingroom because as far as i am concerned they do not exist on any plane of reality that can affect the lives of others outside of there. they are free to have their views. but those views will not affect the lives of other americans. SF will not get walled in. a biracial man will get elected president. and i don't think it is the poor whites who will mind that all that much, if we quit spending so much on a war that should not have been fought and spend that money here at home. maybe at last MLK Jr's dream of blacks and poor whites coming together will happen. and... weren't so many latinos then or he was unaware, but throw them in. and the asians (or g***s as mccain calls them). and the arabs. and whoever else. and the 'nice' rich whites. *wink*
