Panama?

Very Americanized tropical paradise. Even with the recent inflation we´ve had due to use of US$ as the currency most things from RE to food are still much cheaper than in the US. Only a 4 hr flight from Houston or Miami. Decent infrastructure.

Fairly easy to get a visa. Several kinds to choose from with varying benefits. Pensionado visa is the easiest. If you´re drawing a lifetime pension or social security payout of at least $500 and can prove it and also have a clean police record it´s easy to get. Also, the visa entitles you to all sorts of discounts on food, lodging, air fares, medical care. Quality health insurance typically runs $35 - $150/ month depending on age and pre-existing conditions.

Yeah, there are snakes here but I don´t go tromping thru the jungle. Never saw any in the cities.

Panama City or Pandemonium City as I like to call it, isn´t my favorite place. It reminds me of Miami with zillions of massive condo towers and the heat, humidty and noise gets to me. Plenty of other places to choose from though from the highlands where the climate is like perpetual spring to vast stretches of white sand beaches.
