marcher,

it is all about doing what your body (and diet) will allow. i work with a guy who is 200 lbs and benches over 400 lbs. a friend doesn't lift weights and benches 300+ naturally. what can ya do? only what you can.

lackluster day at the gym. i got 170 lbs 5/4/4, 2 reps better than last week's 5/3/3. felt off my game the last few days. i skipped thursday's workout b/c i was tired. allergy season has just begun and i'm wondering if my immune system is working over time and sapping my energy.

for my other exercises i worked with lighter weights and repped them out more. the heavier weights just felt heavy today - i guess my anti-gravity wind took the day off.

i got way ahead of myself thinking i was going to progress past 170 lbs in 16 days - especially following progressing 165 lbs in just 5 days. the Zone is good, but it isn't steroids on top of steroids.

i'm targeting 170 lbs 8/6/4 two saturdays from now (23 day progression). if i can keep upping 2 reps per week, i just need to find one more rep from somewhere to hit my progression. it looks doable now, but i'm going to have to put my tuesdays and thursdays to good use. i want to hit 6 reps at 170 lbs on tuesday, thursday or both. i might be able to eeek out 7 on saturday. 7/5/4 next saturday would be sweet.
