While cost cutting is nice and will help towards profitability, given the crowd that SPSN runs around in that alone will not assure survivability. It's good that SPSN has always been very innovative in the past because that's how the company is going to survive. Having a large debt position and playing in a market where revenues continue to decline is not a good plan for long term continuation.

Hopefully, the merger will lead to new proprietary products that further differentiate SPSN from the rest of the pack. SPSN really needs something that sets it apart from the rest of the pack as analysts seem bent on tar and feathering anybody that has anything to do with memory.

If there was ever and industry that begged for a shake out the current memory business is it. This situation where nobody is making money wont last, but it will probably get worse before it gets better. One can only guess about how long it will take before even companies like SNDK start reporting losses.

SPSN should be one of the few companies going from losing money to making money in 08, but for how long?
