Can anyone help on this one?

I own 1800 shares of company A.

Then company A does a spinout which gets me 600 shares of company B plus 300 warrants for company B. (Note: these warrants trade.)

Some time later I sell those 600 shares of company B.

Sometime later I cash in those warrants of company B for shares.

Later I buy more shares of company B.

I am able to enter the cashing in of warrants as just a buy of company B, and there is no problem entering the final buy of company B.

But when I try to enter the spinout of the shares, it refuses to accept Company B as the new company because the security name is already in use.

If I remove the later transactions from company B and then enter the spinout, it won't let me enter them at no cost, i.e. with no cash changing hands, just the shares of company B coming into my account, it insists on converting it into a buy with the cost being the closing price of the company B on the first day of trading, and won't let me change the price paid to zero to match what actually happened.

And if I try to enter the warrant spinout, which came to me at no cost, i.e. with no cash changing hands, just the warrants coming into my account,it insists on converting it into a buy with the cost being the closing price of the warrant, and won't let me change the price paid to zero to match what actually happened.

I have joined the I Hate Quicken club already.
